This podcast is part of a 10-episode series exploring how each dimension of the Eight Dimensions of Wellness enhances recovery. In this 18-minute podcast, Policy Research Associates, Inc. employees discuss social wellness and how it relates to overall wellness. Featured in the podcast are Systems Administrator Michael Foley and Senior Project Associates Abigail Kirkman, Ashley Krider, and Dazara Ware. Nicole Vincent-Roller, senior communications specialist at PRA, moderates the episode. Speakers discuss different ways they engage in social wellness and how social wellness expands their other areas of wellness.

Social wellness is about developing connections and a support system that creates a feeling of belonging. Humans are social creatures, and social support can help us in other dimensions of wellness. For example, engaging in team sports can support social wellness and physical wellness. Joining clubs centered around activities like reading, fishing, or other hobbies can contribute to social and intellectual wellness too. Mr. Foley, Ms. Kirkman, Ms. Krider, and Ms. Ware all share personal anecdotes about social wellness that demonstrate how their social activities enhance the other dimensions of their wellness.
