Take Charge! of Your Goals With Wellness Coaching was presented at the 2020 New York Association of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Services, Inc.’s annual meeting. Peggy Swarbrick, Ph.D., University Behavioral Health Care, Rutgers Health and Collaborative Support Programs of New Jersey’s Wellness Institute, and Crystal Brandow, Ph.D., Policy Research Associates presented this session.

In this session, Drs. Swarbrick and Brandow defined wellness coaching and benefits, explored key components of wellness coaching, reviewed how wellness coaching can be effectively applied to work with people who have co-occurring conditions, and described how the Take Charge! workbook can support overall wellness.

Wellness coaching is a process of supporting a person in creating and adapting habits that lead to improved health in the wellness dimensions. Wellness coaching is supported through four key components: philosophy, process, structures, and documentation and data. Take Charge! A Workbook to Enhance Well-Being With the Eight Dimensions of Wellness is designed to offer individuals a self-paced, guided exploration of each of the Eight Dimensions of Wellness.
