In this Well-Being podcast episode, PRA employees discuss how social wellness plays an integral role in their lives and overall wellness. Featured in the podcast are System Administrator Michael Foley, along with Senior Project Associates Abigail Kirkman, Ashley Krider, and Dazara Ware. Communications Specialist Nicole Vincent-Roller moderates the episode. Participants discuss different activities they take part in to enhance their social wellness, how those activities enhance other wellness dimensions, strategies they have used to connect with others, and more.

A new article on promoting reentry success through income supports and the SSI/SSDI Outreach, Access, and Recovery (SOAR) model has been published in the January/February 2019 issue of American Jails magazine. Senior Project Associate Dazara Ware and Program Area Director Kristin Lupfer of PRA authored the article, Promoting Reentry Success Through Increased Access to Social Security Benefits. In this article, Mss. Ware and Lupfer examine how jails across the United States are implementing the SOAR model to connect individuals with Social Security disability benefits when they are reentering the community, are at risk of homelessness, and have a serious mental illness, medical impairment, and/or a co-occurring substance use disorder.
